January and February Wrap-Up

My goodness - what a busy entrance into 2025!

The biggest news is that Herbert & Jewell has been released! It’s live in the shop for you to purchase the PDF version of the pattern. If you’d like a paper pattern, the following stores will have them in stock:

The Fabric Chic has the cover quilt on display and KC Maker has the original sampler for the fat quarter version. Plain Jane's has The Rowan color way and The Sew Enchanting Equine has Savannah. Head to my Color Palettes Page to view these color palettes that inspired the quilts. But head to the store to see the beauty in person and pick up a pattern from these great stores.

Check back here or follow me on Instagram; I’m still working with a few other stores for selling the patterns and offering classes. I’ve got more I’m working on with this pattern.

This weekend I made another fat quarter version during our Quilt-Non Sew Weekend with the Kansas City Modern Quilt Guild. I love making this quilt! It looks deceptively hard, but is made up of only two blocks!

January, I headed out to retreat with my KCMQG and mother - what a great long weekend getting more done. I made the Big Cross and Crown Quilt with some AGF Fabric and vintage fabric I picked up at a destash, the Champagne Quilt, and the heart blocks for the Be Mine quilt.

And that was just the quilting!

I set a goal to read more and actually read books from my shelves…you know, my TBR (to be read). Well, this February after a trip to Barnes & Noble, I decided to count my TBR list and come up with 170…and then promptly remembered that I forgot one bringing that to 171…and then found three more books in the basement. So, our final count we’re tracking to see what dent I can make is 174.

I surprised myself in January and read 8 books - I haven’t read like that in a long, long time. What’s helping is I’m making myself go to bed at 9 and read until about 10:30 and have worked audio books into my schedule. I’m also front loading my shorter books and when I hit my first goal (25 books read for the year), I’ll read some longer ones. Here’s what January’s reading stats were:

So, that means something had to fall off and not get done and that was a new color palette.

I’ve decided to pick a different color way and block and want to try to release this in March. This will still mean a color palette for quarter one!

Thank you so much for being here with me! It’s been a great start to 2025!
