January 2022 Wrap-Up

January was a full month - with some holiday vacation time and weekends full of quilting, I got quite a bit accomplished and am pretty proud of my month.

I completed three more blocks for my Laundry Basket Quilts 2021 Mystery Quilt. I’m halfway done and it is turning out even better than I expected. Even though I made coloring page to help with my color ways, seeing it come together in real-life keeps me motivated to keep going. Below is Block 6, one of my favorites and then, the layout to-date.

I’ve slowed down a bit on the mystery quilt, but plan to keep adding to it here in February.

I was also able to complete a quilt top for a pattern and fabric I’ve had for over a year. This quilt came from Studio 180 Designs and to-date is the most accurate and complete quilt I’ve done. I am super proud of this one and can’t wait to get it to the quilter and finished so I can give you all my review.

And of course, there were the Christmas presents I managed this year. The first, for my boss and company founder and then for my dad.

Finally, I kicked off my All People Quilt UFO Challenge with the 12th item on my list. This item was completing six blocks and piecing a top together (PS, you’ll see the blog write-up soon). Here’s a little sneak peek of the top.

Well, if every month can be as productive as January, my year will look awesome! I didn’t however, spend any time drafting/working on my quilt pattern, so I’ll need to reassess some goals there.

What did you work on this January - tell me in the comments some of the projects you worked on as we kicked off our new year!
