Snowflake Quilt Done!
I sit here writing this on one of those blustery Kansas days that is trying to say goodbye to winter and hello to spring (come on spring, come on!). So, of course it’s the perfect day to show off my completed Snowflake Quilt from Modern Handcraft. So, without further ado…
This quilt pattern came with three sewing options - scrappy, four colors, and one color. I selected the scrappy version.
I loved the scrappy versions that were on Instagram I found using the #snowflakequilt hashtag to search for inspiration. I purchased this batch of material from The Fabric Chic. I had found some fun navy fat quarters and filled out the rest of what I needed that coordinated. The white of the snowflake is a linen type with metallic silver strands. My favorite material though was the Ruby Star Society pieces with the animals and pink moon. I backed it in a flannel for some extra warmth and quilted by Prairie Flower Crafts with cute pink snowflakes. The pink in some of my material selections just called out for the quilt to be bound in pink really making this a non-traditional winter quilt.
This was such an easy quilt to put together. Even scrappy, it was still a quick sew. I’m ready to sew another one - maybe a one color with the snowflake blue and the rest white. Who knows?!?!?! There are so many fun options. If you need more persuading to sew one, check out the hashtag on Instagram and you’ll be hooked and need one. This pattern is definitely one you should purchase for your collection. You’ll come back to it and make it again and again.
Xander loves this one - we’re keeping it in our home for sure. It’s even already being put to good use because both of us are hoping the colder weather is heading out and the warmer weather headed in. We’re ready to use our lighter quilts.
Based on feedback from Instagram, it appears you all want my temperature quilt made into a pattern, so I’m going to be working on that here as soon as I sign-off. I’m also going to get to work on my March Oh Hello Done! Goal (my sewing machine had to go in for maintenance, so I’ll be finishing up my February goal late).
I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend - here’s to another great week.
