weekend update - hello june!
FINALLY - a week with minimal rain and more sunshine than we’ve had in a long time (well, long time to me. i’m sure some would tell you i’m being dramatic).
first, to end your suspense, i have my completed third block for my perfect half-square triangle block of the month from freshly pieced. this is the belden star.
i was so happy i finally got to use some of my pink! i did, however, lose a point.
i’m also leaving it this way. first, i’ve been doing a rock solid job using these templates - using any other method, many more points would be missing. next, i know i’ll lose a few more points before all if said and done. finally, i do these quilt projects to build my skills. i reminded myself it isn’t about perfection, it’s about growing. i can definitely tell my skills are improving.
i spent my weekend at the “shine” retreat put on by blessed is she. it was a great weekend that rejuvenated my soul and left me feeling refreshed.
so, i didn’t get a lot of quilting in this weekend. i did get my week three summer sampler done (story later this week!) and i put together some dresdens.
these dresdens came from the scraps of my serendipity one and two quilts. i’m not going to give too many details, but these will be made into a pillow for me while the quilts will go to some special people. now, i need to get some material to do the pillow back and middle circle.
don’t you think that will make a cute pillow! plus, it’ll be an opportunity to use some of the cute stitching on my sewing machine.
i hope you all had a wonderful weekend - i’ll see you all later this week!
