Block 3 - Laundry Basket Quilts Mystery Quilt Results

Block 3 - A quarter of the way there on this Mystery Quilt by Laundry Basket Quilts. I worked on this block over Thanksgiving at my Mom’s house. I’ve been keeping all my blocks and material in a storage bin, so it was easy to pick it up and head to my mom’s for some sewing time with her. This block would need three different color ways and I ALMOST didn’t do this right - I didn’t take my color sheet, but I still had a picture of it on my phone. Thank goodness I checked it first! I needed to make blocks from each of the main colors; the dark blue, yellow, and light blue. Here’s the fabric pull!

This block is made up of 3 different pieces - I was able to repurpose some of my “mistake” blocks from the first block for the dark blue pieces. I got them all laid out to help me chain piece. I really focused on my seam allowance as I wouldn’t be able to trim down on this block.

However, I didn’t pay attention to my cutting instructions and cut double what I needed on the rectangle pieces…oh well, hopefully, again, there will be a way I can reuse these.

Here they are, cute little nine-patch blocks. Anyone have a favorite block so far?
