get on the christmas in july train

my quilt store in alden, ks - prairie flower crafts - is a pretty special place. the community that paula has built through this store is something special. prairie flower is where i bought the materials for my first quilt and really fell in love with quilting. in fact, you’ll get a little peek at the panel i used in my first quilt in one of the pictures below.

now, my mama, who’s the one that got me into this quilting shindig, would tell you i have a material problem in general. i love material and need to have it! however, the type of material i can get lost in, is christmas material.

i love christmas material, and, paula has a special event coming up, christmas in july, i wanted to share with you. prairie flower has shelves of in-stock christmas material. don’t worry, i didn’t buy her out on my last visit! i took some shots for you to see what gorgeousness she has on the shelves now!

christmas in july one
christmas in july two
christmas in july three

did you see the church panel there by the snowman? that’s the panel i used for my very first quilt!

i thought it would be fun to pull from the shelves my absolute favorite material paula has in the shop right now - these little birdies and the holly. there’s just enough of the classic christmas red and green. the black and gold make it classy and balance the cute of the birds. i already have some for a holiday project so this cuteness can be all yours.

i did pick up my free row-by-row pattern and some new christmas material. you’ll have to go into the store to get prairie flower’s row-by-row AND to get the pattern free (material was purchased by myself). here’s my fabric pull:

i love the red and black together in this christmas material i pulled. plus, the berries are similar to my birdies, but different enough to make another project out of it and still compliment what i’m working on with my birdies. i’ll post my finished row-by-row project soon and share some more about the deb tucker template tools i plan to use. now, the row-by-row rules are you have to go into the store to get the pattern. so, when is the perfect time to sneak into the store to get the pattern and some fun new christmas supplies?

another cute little birdie (might’ve been a cardinal) let me sneak in the back and see what new christmas materials have arrived (holy cute santas!) and other cute christmas finds from market. AND, if you’ve been on the fence about joining sip and sew, the sip and sew ladies got sneak peaks back in june - and one in particular was “snow” cute.

prairie flower is kicking off their christmas in july festivities on july 27th at the lyons’ christmas in july event held at the celebration center. i heard the crew will have some more previews of what’s to come. then, stop by the store july 29th thru the 31st. finally, august 1st, paula and the store will have the new material on the shelves! if you need a reminder of the details, stop by here. so stop in to get those christmas materials picked up!
