June Oh, Hello Done! Goal
Well, one thing the quarantine did for me was make March, April, and May speed by even faster than they normally do. Friday I realized I needed to get the June goal posted so you all had time to prep.
This month, the goal is to use a pattern from your stash. This pattern can be from a magazine, a book, your favorite Instagram quilter, your favorite local quilt store, or Pinterest. The caveat is - it already has to be on hand. No buying something new! So go through all those patterns and find one to make.
This month, I’m excited to announce my mama and I are going to make the same pattern! The other weekend I was sitting on my porch reading through a few quilt magazines trying to find my pattern for June and I found this beauty. She immediately loved it too.
This quilt is called Sun & Shade and was designed by Trisha Copeland. This is from the Fall/Winter 2019 edition of Better Homes & Gardens Quilt Sampler. If you’d like this pattern, you can purchase the digital magazine here. This is the overview page for the magazine, but if you hover your mouse over the “get digital issue” phrase, the phrase will turn blue, taking you to the site to purchase.
We’re really excited as this pattern will also let us use some of our favorite tools, Deb Tucker Templates! Here we will use our Tucker Trimmer (for some HSTs) and the Wing Clipper (Flying Geese). My mom introduced me to these tools and I have loved every single one and how accurate they make my sewing. I’ve also been dying to do some more traditional piecing work lately.
We’re also planning some fun Instagram content for you as I am working from home with her this week. Plus, I’m going to be doing a fun giveaway this month over on my Instagram account - make sure you are following me there for the announcement later this week!
